Dentists Urge Police to Arrest Violent German Patient

NAKHON RATCHASIMA – A local dentist society has once again urged police to arrest a German man accused of repeatedly assaulting dentists in their clinics and damaging medical equipment.

Repeated Attacks Spark Fear

Wiwat Chatwongwan, a spokesman for the Nakhon Ratchasima Dental Society, along with several dentists who claim to have been attacked, filed a formal complaint at Muang Nakhon Ratchasima police station on Monday. The society is calling for legal action against the suspect, a 41-year-old German national.

According to Mr. Wiwat, the man has been attacking dentists in Muang district since November last year. Despite a previous police complaint filed in November, no significant progress has been made, and the assaults have continued.

“Dental professionals in Muang district are terrified. We have warned clinics throughout Nakhon Ratchasima to stay alert and take precautions against this dangerous man,” Mr. Wiwat said.

Shocking Incidents Caught on Camera

Security footage from November 30 last year captured one of the initial attacks at a dental clinic on the Mitraparp Highway in tambon Jor Hor. After an appointment with a dentist, the suspect became agitated, rushed upstairs, punched a hole in a door, and stormed into a treatment room occupied by a female dentist. He then grabbed her head, bit her lips, and knocked her head against a wall before fleeing. The traumatized victim has yet to return to work.

The most recent attack occurred last Friday at another clinic inside a shopping mall in Muang district. The same man allegedly barged into a woman dentist’s surgery, shouting aggressively. The frightened dentist managed to escape before the situation escalated.

In addition to physically assaulting dentists, the suspect has reportedly vandalized clinic equipment, issued threats in person and on social media, and caused widespread fear among dental professionals.

Mental Health Concerns and Legal Action

The man is believed to be living with his Thai wife in tambon Don Chompu, Non Sung district. According to his wife, he has struggled with mental health issues after losing his job in Germany before moving to Thailand. He is not currently receiving treatment but does use cannabis.

Mr. Wiwat has urged authorities to take immediate action to prevent further attacks.

“He needs proper treatment or confinement to prevent him from further endangering society. Right now, dentists are living in fear for their safety,” he stated.

The Nakhon Ratchasima Dental Society is demanding that police intervene before more healthcare professionals become victims of violence.
