UFC president Dana White has revealed that he will soon make significant announcements regarding his transition into boxing.
Since taking over as president of the UFC in 2001, White has played a pivotal role in transforming the organization into a leading name in global sports. While he has long been linked to the boxing world, besides facilitating the superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, he has never formally committed to the sport—until now.
In recent comments to the media while promoting the boxing match between Irish talent Callum Walsh and Poland’s Przemyslaw Runowski, White hinted at exciting developments. “There will be some big announcements soon,” he stated. “I never say anything I don’t intend to do, ever. We’ve discussed the whole boxing thing for a long time, but I’m officially committed now—I’m in.”
Since 2022, White has actively supported Walsh despite not being his official promoter, recognizing him as a key figure in his foray into boxing. With an undefeated record of 11 wins, including nine knockouts, Walsh represents White’s entry point into the sport.
Speaking with Morning Kombat, Walsh explained how he caught White’s attention: “When I first signed with my promoter Tom Loeffler, he was working on a deal to bring boxing to UFC Fight Pass. Dana had a history with Irish fighters, so it made sense for me to meet him. After showing him my footage and sharing my aspirations, he has been supportive of my career.”
