Brit tourist injured in bar brawl

On August 5 at 1:35 a.m., Pattaya City police were called to a disturbance at the “Matador Bar” in Bua Khao, central Pattaya, involving two international visitors involved in a physical altercation with bar security personnel.

Authorities arrived on the scene and discovered a huge foreign guy, 60-year-old Ian Thomas, lying on the ground with a wound to his left brow and surrounding shattered spectacles.

Gregory Thomas, 37, a different guy who proved out to be his son, was attending to his father’s wounds.
Thomas Sr. approached the area before to the altercation but was ordered to leave by the bar owner, according to Nattakan Boonprasom, 27, a bar employee.

The older British man shoved the employee aside as he approached the bar’s exit door, starting a heated argument that resulted in the fight.

Thomas Sr. received injuries care from paramedics. Thomas was sent to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for additional care after complaining of chest issues.

The security personnel engaged in the altercation were taken by police to the Pattaya Police Station for interrogation.

Police permitted both of the foreigners to temporarily return to their lodgings because they were both under the effect of drink and scheduled more interrogation for a later time.
