An 18-year-old skateboarder was seriously hurt early this morning during an altercation with a rowdy group of youths at a skate park in South Pattaya. The victim apparently provoked the gang because of the loud motorbike engines, which escalated to a severe assault with weapons before the gang fled the area. Police were notified about the occurrence, and they responded quickly to the location.
Yesterday at 5am, the Pattaya-based Sawangboriboonthammasatan Rescue Unit received a distress call. They immediately sent investigators from Pattaya City Police Station and members of their rescue squad to the Bali Hai Cape Skate Park in Nong Prue Sub-District, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province.
Officials arrived to find a scene that could only be characterized as chaotic. Boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18 gathered nearby the scene of the incident, observing with heightened curiosity. They discovered ‘A,’ the victim, resting on the skatepark floor. A had evident head wounds, massive face injuries, and bruises all over his body. He was also coated in blood.
First aid was provided by emergency responders before they swiftly transported him to the closest hospital. They had congregated at the skatepark for an evening of skating before the assault, according to witnesses at the scene, some of whom were close friends of A. A group of adolescents on overly loud motorbikes passed shortly after that, according to witnesses, with roughly 10 bikes in the group.A became enraged by this behavior and began to rap insults at the unsettling bunch.
Armed with long-bladed knives and sticks and returning to the skatepark in apparent retribution, the angry gang attacked A violently.
The skull was struck with blows, leaving A was repeatedly kicked by the criminals, who then sped away on their bikes. A fell on the ground. After the tragedy, onlookers immediately called for assistance, alerting the rescue team that tried to save the severely injured youngster.
