A 36-year-old man from New Zealand tragically died after jumping from the 7th floor of a hotel in Pattaya . Police received a report about a foreign national who had fallen to his death at a hotel located near Beach Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Responding swiftly, police and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of the New Zealand man, who had fallen from the balcony of his 7th-floor room. His body landed on air conditioning and electrical conduits of an adjacent building, resulting in instant death. Rescue workers carefully retrieved the body, and an initial police examination found no signs of physical assault.
Hotel staff reported that the man had shown signs of what appeared to be drug-induced hallucinations. He was heard shouting “Help me!” in English before tragically leaping from the balcony. Despite efforts by the staff to calm him, they were unable to prevent the incident. Once composed, the staff immediately contacted authorities.
Pattaya police searched the victim’s room and found no evidence of foul play. The hotel staff also provided a video clip showing the man’s distressed state before the fatal jump, which has been collected as evidence. The body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
The police are in contact with the victim’s embassy to inform his family of the tragic incident.
