A tragic accident occurred in Pattaya when a young Thai man lost his life after his motorcycle crashed and he was subsequently run over by a water truck. The driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene.
The incident took place around 8:00 PM on Soi Phothisarn in the Na Kluea sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Pattaya police were alerted to the fatal crash, and officers, along with emergency personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation and a team from The Pattaya News, quickly responded.
At the scene, authorities found a blue Honda Wave 125 motorcycle overturned. The victim, 22-year-old Mr. Jirayut Laksana-arayakarn, was lying lifeless in a pool of blood after being struck by a six-wheeled water truck. The truck had tragically run over Mr. Jirayut’s head, causing instant death. Rescue teams covered his body before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Approximately 100 meters from the crash site, police discovered the water truck abandoned on the road. It appeared the driver had fled on foot before the authorities arrived.
An eyewitness, 48-year-old Ms. Duangdeuan Saesim, recounted that the victim had been attempting to overtake her vehicle on the left side when he lost control and fell. The rear wheels of the water truck then ran over him, resulting in the fatal injuries. She immediately contacted the authorities after witnessing the horrifying event.
