Sattahip police officers responded to a report of a fatal accident involving a sedan and a motorcycle with a sidecar on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip, Chonburi. Upon the arrival of rescue teams, they found the body of Mrs. Samniang, 58, lying in the middle of the road. Nearby, her sidecar motorcycle, which had been carrying three gas cylinders, was discovered with its rear end completely destroyed. A short distance away, a severely damaged sedan was found, with the driver, Mr. Boonlert, waiting to be interviewed by the police. The deceased was transported to Sattahip Hospital for a thorough autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
According to the officers, Mr. Boonlert was reportedly driving towards Sattahip when the sidecar motorcycle, in an attempt to avoid a vehicle in front, swerved into his lane. Unable to brake in time, he collided with the rear of the motorcycle, leading to the tragic accident.
Sattahip police revealed that the victim operated a local gas shop and was likely delivering gas to customers at the time of the accident. Investigations are ongoing to interview the driver and eyewitnesses to determine the precise cause of the accident, with legal proceedings to follow based on the findings.
