Bail denied for three others arrested earlier, shooter’s father attends funeral for victim
Separately in Bangkok and Prachuap Khiri Khan, three more suspects, two men and a woman, have been detained for allegedly providing ammunition to a 14-year-old kid who earlier this week went on a shooting rampage inside the Siam Paragon mall.
One of the suspects was taken into custody on Saturday at a home on Phetkasem Soi 94 in the Bang Khae district by Pol Lt Gen Thiti Saengsawang, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and a group of Yan Nawa police investigators.
Phassornkorn “Nikki” Thianthanwit, 27, was the suspect, and the Bangkok South Criminal Court had issued a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of conspiring to sell ammunition illegally on Friday.
Authorities seized two firearms—a Smith & Wesson revolver and a Glock automatic pistol—along with 2,765 rounds of various bullet types, three cell phones, unopened packages, and packaging supplies.
Suthida Paenghom and Wutthiphong Phetmanee, the other two suspects, were detained in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Bang Saphan Noi area.
In contrast to Ms. Suthida, who turned herself in to police at Bang Saphan Noi station, Mr. Wutthiphong was apprehended behind a home. The Bangkok South Criminal Court had issued warrants for both people’s arrest.
When questioned by authorities, Mr. Wutthiphong admitted that he had been recruited to open a 1,000 baht Government Savings Bank account. In order to receive a child welfare allowance, Ms. Suthida claimed she opened a Krungthai Bank account six years prior. She said that her spouse afterwards received money transfers from other people using her account.
Three men were detained on Thursday for allegedly selling guns and ammo to the juvenile mall shooter in Yala and Bangkok.
The southern border province of Yala’s Suwananhong Phramkhanajarn, 45, and his 22-year-old son Akkharawit Jaithong were detained at a residence there. 31-year-old Piyabut Pianpithak was detained in Bangkok.

On Saturday, the Bangkok South Criminal Court dismissed the three’s request for bail and granted the police’s request to hold them in custody for an additional 12 days, citing the severity of the offenses. The group was deemed a flight risk by the police.
According to the legislation, a suspect may be held without charge for up to 84 days, or seven 12-day intervals, before charges are officially filed against or dropped against them.
Arrest warrants were issued for Mr. Suwananhong and his son for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition as well as selling firearms and ammunition without a license. 209 blank gun rounds, 33 metal components, two bank passbooks, nine magazines, and other goods were taken from his home.
Only Mr. Piyabut acknowledged giving the youngster a gun and ammunition. Police asserted that they had sufficient evidence to bring charges against the two other guys, including money transfer slips and other items.

Father of suspect attends funeral
In a related event, the father of the teenage suspect went to the memorial service on Friday night for Monin, a Myanmarese woman in her 30s who worked in a mall shop.
He expressed regret to the victim’s employer and provided financial support to the victim’s family upon arriving at Wat Phasuk Maneechak in Nonthaburi. He expressed his disbelief and profound sadness over what had happened while sobbing.
The boy’s parents expressed their “deepest apologies” for the tragedy in a letter that his father had written earlier in the day and sent to the general public. They claimed they were completely collaborating with the legal system and the authorities.
