The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hopes that visitors will take part in this year’s annual long-boat racing festival, held all over Thailand to commemorate the Buddhist Lent or Khao Phansa period with a flurry of color, culture, merit-making, and high-octane races on the water.
Watching the exciting long-boat races is an incredible experience. Locals and visitors alike show up in droves to watch and cheer on the racers every year. The following racial groups have been organized by continent.
Festival of Nonthaburi Long Boat Races, 2023
Nonthaburi Pier (Tha Nam Non), September 9-10, 2023.
The event will feature a Royal Cup procession, a traditional Thai long drum procession, and long-boat races with 30 and 55 oarsmen, with an emphasis on raising conservation awareness of the Chao Phraya River.
