 765 officers in annual military reshuffle

A royal command appointing 765 officers in the annual military reshuffle has been published in the Royal Gazette. The appointments are to take effect from Oct 1.

The appointments involve positions in the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Royal Thai Armed Force Headquarters, the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Navy and the Royal Thai Air Force.

Important appointments on the reshuffle list are:

The Office of Permanent Secretary

• Gen Sanitchanok Sangkachan, deputy permanent secretary for defence, to be permanent secretary
• Adm Thirakul Kanchana, deputy navy commander, to be deputy permanent secretary
• ACM Tanasak Metanan, deputy air force commander, to be deputy permanent secretary
• Gen Nuchit Sriboonsong, director of the defence policy and planning officer, to be deputy permanent secretary

The Royal Thai Armed Force Headquarters

• Gen Songwit Noonpakdi, chief of staff officers attached to the supreme command, to be deputy supreme commander
• Gen Siravut Wongkhanti, commander of the National Defence Studies Institute, to be deputy supreme commander
• Gen Thitichai Thienthong, deputy armed forces chief of staff, to be armed forces chief of staff

The Royal Thai Army

• Gen Charoenchai Hinthao, assistant army commander, to be deputy army commander
• Gen Suksan Nongbualang, 1st Army commander, to be assistant army commander
• Lt Gen Kriangkrai Srirak, 4th Army commander, to be assistant army commander

The Royal Thai Navy

• Adm Choengchai Chomchoengpaet, assistant navy commander, to be navy commander
• Adm Thaloengsak Sirisawat, navy chief of staff, to be deputy navy commander
• Adm Suvin Jangyodsuk, Royal Fleet commander, to be assistant navy commander
• V/Adm Adung Phan-iam, chief of the Naval Communications and Information Technology Department, to be Royal Fleet commander

The Royal Thai Air Force

• ACM Alongkorn Wannarot, assistant air force commander, to be air force commander
• ACM Chanon Mungthanya, assistant air force commander, to be deputy air force commander
• ACM Pongsawat Chanthasan, air force specialist, to be assistant air force commander
• ACM Panpak Pattanakul, air force chief of staff, to be assistant air force commander
• ACM Narong Intachart, air force special adviser, to be air force chief of staff
