A woman was pulled clear from her car just before it caught fire after slamming into the rear of a truck on a Chon Buri road Thursday morning.
Kamolwan Khoteprada, 21, was saved by Narong Sawengphoo, 38, the driver of the six-wheel truck involved in the accident, on a main road in Tambon Klong Kiew in Chon Buri’s Ban Bueng district at 7am. Kamolwan said she was driving downhill road and was unable to stop in time to avoid the truck in front. She said she could not open the driver’s door and that Narong rushed to her rescue, pulling her out from the passenger’s side just before the car was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters took about 20 minutes to put out the blaze, which gutted the vehicle. Narong said he was driving to an industrial estate to load up when he felt the impact. He climbed down from the truck and saw smoke coming from the car that had rear-ended him and rushed to extract the driver. NT – EP
