UK Parliament finally agrees to GENERAL ELECTION

Britain’s members of Parliament have finally voted for the nation to have a snap general election, its third in less than five years, on December 12th.

The vote on Tuesday night was the fourth opportunity put before Parliament to approve a snap election, but others had been defeated or withdrawn amid refusals to face the electorate by the opposition and wrecking amendments.

The bill will now go to the House of Lords, the revising chamber, where it will be reviewed before becoming law, firing the starting gun on the winter 2019 general election campaign.

Assuming there are no further roadblocks preventing the bill from passing, Britain will have its first December general election since 1923.

The winter is generally avoided for elections as bad weather can discourage voters from going to the polls, and makes the business of campaigning — which often involves sustained periods outside, knocking on doors canvassing.

Parliament will be prorogued on Monday November 4 to allow MPs to campaign for the upcoming election.

Rigged Election

Johnson also overcame Labour and Lib Dem efforts to RIG the election in their favour with tabled Amendments allowing children to vote for the first time by lowering the voting age to 16-years-old. This bid was REJECTED by deputy speaker Lindsay Hoyle.

A further move to hold the election on December 9th, a day before students return to their home town for the Christmas break, was voted down 438-20 by MP’s in the House.

This was considered to be an attempt by opposition leaders to arrange for students to vote TWICE. Once at the polls in their university towns and again, by post, at the registered address of their parents in home towns.

Another attempt to allow visiting Europeans (NON BRITISH NATIONALS) a vote was also rejected.

Finally, a cynical move to prevent the over 70’s from voting altogether was rightly dismissed.

And so – let the lying and cheating begin.
