Turkish tourist robbed in Pattaya

Early this morning, a Turkish traveler by himself on Pattaya Beach reported being pickpocketed of a 25,000 baht gold necklace by a transgender suspect. The man said he was alert and frequently followed the news about this crime, but he still fell prey to the thief’s deft hands.

Reporters who were waiting for the Turkish victim, Mr. Mehmet Okur Aydin, 50, to testify to the Pattaya Police on Beach Road discovered him. He claimed that the incident occurred this morning, June 18, about 4 AM. He was enjoying the vista and breeze from the water as he strolled along Pattaya Beach when he was approached by someone he identified as a transgender person.

Mr. Mehmet was approached by the suspect, who offered him sexual services; he declined. The suspect was then pulled away by the Turkish tourist after they attempted to hug and touch him.

The gold necklace Mr. Mehmet was wearing, however, had vanished from his neck after the suspect had left. He believed that the transgender individual might have stolen it. According to Mr. Mehmet, the stolen gold necklace was worth more than 25,000 baht.

Additionally, he admitted that despite frequently following news about this crime on social media and constantly being on the lookout when going alone outside, he nonetheless ended up becoming a victim of the very act he had tried to stop.

To find the transgender thief, Pattaya Police are studying CCTV footage of the event. According to The Pattaya News, this is not the first time a foreign traveler has been the victim of a gold necklace thief.
