Tragic Death of Russian Tourist Following Boat Slide Incident in Pattaya Bay
A tragic incident has claimed the life of Russian tourist, Mr. Andrew Anganov, aged 33, after he experienced a medical emergency while playing on a tour boat slide near Koh Sak in Pattaya Bay. The Pattaya Marine Rescue Division identified Mr. Anganov as the victim.
According to reports, the rescue teams from the Pattaya City Marine Disaster Division and the Sawang Boriboon Foundation Rescue Unit were dispatched to retrieve the unconscious tourist after he fell from the slide into the sea. The Pattaya News team accompanied the rescue workers.
Upon reaching the scene, rescuers found Mr. Anganov without a pulse aboard a large tour boat anchored near Koh Sak. CPR was immediately administered, and he was transported back to shore. Despite the efforts of both the rescue team and medical staff at Pattaya City Hospital, Mr. Anganov was later pronounced dead.
Mr. Ni, a 25-year-old boat crew member from Myanmar, explained that after playing on the slide and returning to the boat, Mr. Anganov complained of severe back pain before going into shock and losing consciousness. The boat captain quickly contacted emergency services.
Pol. Lt. Col. Suphaphan Mipricha, an inspector with Tourist Police Division 4, confirmed that Mr. Anganov had arrived in Pattaya on February 9th and was on a tour to Koh Sak when the incident occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest that Mr. Anganov’s weight—over 100 kilograms—may have contributed to the severity of the impact with the water, resulting in his injuries and death.
The Pattaya City Police have sent Mr. Anganov’s body to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have also notified the Russian Embassy and the victim’s family of the tragic incident.
