Tourists Arrested for Mobile Gambling at Jomtien Beach; Authorities Consider Action Against Beach Chair Operator
Pattaya police arrested four tourists for gambling via a mobile application at Jomtien Beach, leading authorities to consider penalties for the beach chair operator.
The incident occurred at 10:30 AM on March 24th, when municipal officers were conducting routine inspections along Jomtien Beach Road. They noticed a group of tourists cheering loudly and, upon closer investigation, discovered that more than ten individuals were engaged in gambling.
As soon as the tourists spotted the officers, they attempted to flee. However, four individuals were successfully apprehended and found to be gambling through a mobile app. They were taken into custody for legal proceedings.
The operator of the beach chair service, who remained unidentified, claimed they were not present at the time of the incident. However, Pattaya authorities are considering penalizing the operator for negligence, with potential penalties including a suspension of business operations for seven to fifteen days.
