Tourist Police Raid Pattaya Real Estate Firm for Hiring Illegal Workers
PATTAYA – A real estate management company in Pattaya was raided by the Tourist Police Bureau on Monday in a crackdown on illegal employment, leading to the arrest of nine Chinese workers found working without proper permits.
Acting on a court-issued warrant (No. 36/2025), officers led by Pol. Col. Songwut Chueaplakit and Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Raksa stormed the Baidi International (Pattaya) Real Estate Management Company at 2:50 p.m. The raid followed a tip-off from a concerned citizen about the firm’s alleged employment of foreign workers without authorization.
Inside the three-story commercial building, police found a mix of Thai and foreign employees conducting business operations. Upon inspection, nine Chinese workers were identified with valid passports but lacking the required work permits under Thai labor laws.
The foreign workers were charged under the Immigration Act of 1979 for working without permission and were transferred to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal action. Authorities have warned businesses against employing illegal workers, emphasizing continued enforcement efforts.
