Tourist Injured in Beer Bottle Assault on Pattaya Beach
PATTAYA, Thailand – A violent altercation on Pattaya Beach left a 35-year-old tourist, Mr. Monta Lahae, injured after being struck on the head with a beer bottle. Rescue teams and police arrived at the scene to find a crowd gathered around the wounded victim, who was bleeding from the attack. He was given first aid before being rushed to a hospital for further treatment.
The suspected attacker, Mr. Wasan Boonyanuson, 42, was found intoxicated and was restrained by police with the help of bystanders. Another individual, Mr. Weerawat Phithak, 40, was also present at the scene. Broken beer bottles littered the area, indicating the intensity of the altercation.
According to the victim and witnesses, the conflict began as an exchange of insults before escalating into physical violence. Mr. Wasan allegedly kicked the victim and then struck him with a beer bottle, despite attempts from bystanders to intervene. A video recording of the attack has been handed over to the authorities as evidence.
Both suspects have been taken into custody pending further investigation. Legal proceedings will move forward once the victim recovers and files an official complaint.
