Tourist Follows Fearfully by Man in Sattahip, Authorities Intervene in Time
A female tourist in Sattahip faced a terrifying experience when an unknown man followed her to her accommodation and attempted to enter her room on February 7. Thankfully, authorities acted swiftly to prevent a potential danger.
Naval military police were notified by staff at the Sattahip Reception House, located near Dongtan Bay, Chonburi, after reports of a man behaving erratically and trying to enter the woman’s room. Upon their arrival, officers found the suspect visibly intoxicated, incoherent, and unaware of his actions. He was immediately detained and transferred to Sattahip police for further investigation and a background check.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the man had been trailing the tourist from the beachfront near the Sattahip District Office and then began persistently knocking on her door. Realizing the danger, the tourist contacted hotel staff, who quickly alerted authorities. Had she opened the door, the situation could have escalated severely.
The area near Sattahip’s beachfront has become notorious for vagrants who frequently sleep there, often creating disturbances. Despite multiple incidents, government agencies have yet to take significant action to address the safety concerns, raising alarms about the well-being of tourists in the region.
