Three killed, four injured as pickup crashes into tree in Rayong

Three killed: Three people were killed and four others, all members of the same Buri Ram family, were injured when a pickup truck crashed into a ditch in the middle of a Rayong road and hit a tree.

 

Police said the accident happened at 3am on highway No 344 in Moo 5 village in Tambon Payub Nai in Rayong’s Wang Chan district.

The driver, Chitnupong Lunpila, 22, was killed. His uncle, Apisit Kitisakon, 52, and his aunt, Somjit Wanna, 61, were also killed.

Four other passengers were seriously injured.

All seven lived in the same house in Buri Ram’s Putthaisong district.

They were travelling home after visiting a family member, who is working as a nurse in Rayong’s Klaeng district.

The survivors said they did not know how the accident happened as they were all asleep.

Police suspect the driver fell asleep behind the wheel.
