Three Injured in Pattaya Shooting as Two Suspects Surrender
Two men, including the father of a 14-year-old girl involved in a dispute, have surrendered to Pattaya police following a violent shooting that left three people injured.
On February 4, 36-year-old Kittisak and 30-year-old Ekachai turned themselves in, bringing with them a 9mm pistol and a five-shot shotgun. They claimed they had been fired at first and only returned fire in self-defense. Kittisak stated that he aimed only at the person holding a weapon and did not intend to harm anyone else.
Later that day, Mr. Pramote, one of the injured victims, also surrendered to police. CCTV footage showed him fleeing after being shot in the thigh, even jumping onto a truck while still holding a Glock 26 pistol. He claimed he was armed for self-defense, fearing for the safety of his niece and younger relatives after prior threats from the opposing party.
Pramote alleged that during the confrontation, a man in a black long-sleeve shirt pulled out a shotgun. In response, he fired a warning shot into the air to defuse the situation, but was then shot in the leg.
Police have charged Kittisak and Ekachai with attempted murder and firearm-related offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
