Thief Caught inside Apartments

A thief was captured on security cameras roaming through the S.B. Apartments on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Chonburi, and sneaking into unlocked rooms to steal valuables.

On July 28th, 2024, local reporters visited the apartment building after the owner released security footage of the thief’s bold theft attempts. The video, shared on social media to raise awareness, shows the suspect trying door handles on multiple rooms throughout the building.

According to Ms. Namtan, the 35-year-old apartment owner (name withheld upon request), the incident occurred at 3:42 AM on July 20th. The thief, described as a Thai man aged between 30 and 35, arrived on a motorcycle. He entered the building and tried to open the doors of nearly every room from the ground floor to the third floor. He successfully accessed a foreign tenant’s room, stealing items such as a digital camera and other valuables before fleeing.

Ms. Namtan noted that the thief took advantage of a moment when the building’s keycard door was left open by a tenant. The footage also showed the suspect holding something in his pocket while attempting the doors, leading Ms. Namtan to believe he might have been armed. She has called on local police to apprehend the thief promptly to ensure the safety of her tenants.
