There were 19 more Covid-19 fatalities and 7,587 new cases recorded during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry reported on Tuesday morning.
This compared with the 12 coronavirus-related fatalities and 6,718 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.
The 19 new fatalities were between the ages of eight months and 94 years old.
Bangkok logged the most new deaths, five, and another fatality was reported in the adjacent province of Samut Prakan.
Other central plain provinces further from the capital recorded two more deaths, in Chon Buri and Sing Buri.
The Northeast had four new coronavirus-related fatalities – in Kalasin (2), Si Sa Ket (1) and Ubon Ratchathani (1).
The South reported three more deaths – in Phuket, Songkhla and Satun.
The North had four new fatalities – in Chiang Mai (3) and Phetchabun (1).
There were 7,325 new cases in the general population, 106 among prison inmates and 156 imported cases.
Of the local Covid-19 infections, 7,267 were confirmed at hospitals and 58 via mass testing.
Bangkok still had the most new cases at 1,683 (exceeding 1,000 for the seventh consecutive day), followed by 644 in Samut Prakan, 343 in Phuket, 335 in Chon Buri, 324 in Nonthaburi, 225 in Khon Kaen, 213 in Pathum Thani, 159 in Chachoengsao, 137 in Ratchaburi and 132 in Samut Sakhon.
The 156 imported cases included 39 from Russia, 11 each from India and Uzbekistan, eight from Kazakhstan, seven from the United Kingdom and six each from Israel, France and the United States.
On Monday 81,299 people received Covid-19 treatment at hospitals (down from 81,532), including 519 seriously ill patients with lung inflammation (down from 548) and 97 dependent on ventilators (down from 114).
The 24-hour period also saw 7,801 Covid-19 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,398,944 Covid-19 cases, including 175,509 cases this year, with 2,295,569 complete recoveries to date.
The death toll stood at 22,076 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 378 so far this year.
The kingdom’s 24-hour high of Covid-related fatalities was 312 recorded on Aug 13, 2021. The highest number of cases was 23,418 on Aug 18, 2021.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 3.32 million in 24 hours to 359.17 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 9,647 to 5.63 million.
The US had the most cases at 73.45 million, up 443,072, and the most deaths at 894,880, up 2,611.
Thailand ranked 27th globally by its 2.39 million accumulated Covid-19 cases.
