Thai man arrested for working on porn site

Law enforcement authorities conducted an operation to apprehend a Thai interpreter who was employed on a pornographic production set in Thailand, which was being broadcasted in real-time using a Chinese mobile application.

The law enforcement authorities were provided with information indicating that a female individual of Chinese nationality had transformed a condominium located in Bangkok into a setting for the creation of pornographic content by her crew. The crew generated explicit pornographic material and broadcasted it in real-time over a digital platform. In order to gain access to the livestreams, viewers were required to acquire a membership or a package through a purchase.

On September 1, law enforcement officials discovered that a group producing pornographic content was using a condominium unit known as Chandara Mansion, which is located on Lat Phrao Road in the Wang Thong Lang neighborhood of Bangkok.
The location was under surveillance by law enforcement personnel until they successfully apprehended an individual from the production crew, identified as Sompong, also known as Lhong, a 34-year-old Thai male.
Lhong refuted his alleged participation and said that he did not accrue any financial gains from illicit enterprises. However, he later took a contradictory stance by acknowledging that he worked as an interpreter who had to translate the comments made by viewers during the live broadcast.

Lhong, hailing from the northern province of Mae Hong Sorn, expressed that he submitted an application for a tour guide role in Bangkok. However, he was unexpectedly presented with an opportunity to work as an interpreter for a team involved in the production of adult films.

Lhong elucidated that his primary responsibility entailed facilitating effective communication between the viewers and the adult pornographers. The audience members would express their preferences for particular poses or positions they wished the artists to assume, and he would communicate these suggestions to the actors.

Subsequently, law enforcement officials conducted a raid at the location where the pornographic content was being produced, leading to the discovery of both the individuals involved in the live streaming activity and the equipment utilized for this purpose. The law enforcement officials confiscated various items, including a mobile phone tripod, a light source, a personal lubricant, a sex toy resembling a phallic object, three packages of medication commonly known as Viagra, a device facilitating internet connectivity, a tool typically used for inflicting pain or discipline, and a collection of further objects designed for sexual enjoyment.

According to KhaoSod, Lhong was associated with a different pornography production company that was present in a Pattaya hotel when a police raid took place in December of the previous year. Nevertheless, in the course of the aforementioned occurrence, Lhong managed to evade apprehension.

Lhong is currently confronted with preliminary allegations pursuant to Section 287(1) of the Criminal Law, which pertains to the possession, importation, production, advertisement, or distribution of explicit content. The potential consequences for the offense include a maximum prison sentence of three years, a monetary penalty of up to 60,000 baht, or a combination of both.

According to official reports, a Chinese female individual, who was involved as an investor in the aforementioned enterprise, has departed the nation. However, they are actively engaging in coordination efforts with pertinent local and international authorities in order to ensure her apprehension.
The law enforcement authorities emphasized that the aforementioned criminal behavior is classified as a transnational offense, hence potentially justifying additional accusations against Lhong and any other implicated individuals.
