New TAT governor has been appointed Thanapee Kiatphaibool

The appointment of Thapanee Kiatphaibool as the next leader of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), effective September 1, has been authorized. The nominating subcommittee, which started the hiring process on February 20, made the recommendation, and the TAT board adopted it.

The subcommittee, which was led by Arrun Boonchai.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, unanimously selected Thapanee. The selection criteria put a heavy emphasis on administrative prowess, tourism business understanding, and marketing know-how.In order to ensure a smooth transition.

The new TAT governor informed tourism operators that she will continue the policies established by her predecessor, Yuthasak Supasorn, for the promotion of tourism. She intends to make her strategy for creating tourism promotion strategies in cooperation with the private sector public once her appointment becomes official.

After earning her master’s in science from the University of Surrey in the UK, Thapanee joined the TAT in 1999. She has held a number of jobs inside the company and is now the deputy governor for domestic marketing.

Thapanee was instrumental in starting the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification program during the Covid-19 outbreak. During times of strong Covid-19 control measures, this program made it possible for hotels and businesses to comply with particular health and safety regulations, and it became a prerequisite for hotels looking to register as quarantine facilities.
