Featured Suspect in the murder case has admitted that he killed the woman in regards of a Financial dispute
According to Pattaya Police, the key suspect in the death of Rattana Thammarak, a woman from Pattaya, has reportedly admitted to killing Rattana because of a money disagreement. Yesterday, May 24, at 10am, the suspect, Watcharaphon Ansongkram, 39, better known as Kik or “Kik Kilo 10,” arrived at Pattaya Police Station for questioning over the slaying of Rattana, 32. In the Thai town of Kut Bak, which is close to the Kalasin province’s border in northeastern Thailand, police detained Watcharaphon. He was brought back to Pattaya, the scene of the incident, by police when they found him hiding inside a little wooden shack. Watcharaphon reportedly appeared anxious at the police station and had bite marks and wounds between the thumb and index finger on his left hand. According to Pol. Col. Thanapong Phothi, Superintendent of the Pattaya Police Station, the suspect claimed during the initial interrogation that he just acted impulsively and did not plan to kill the victim. Col. Thanapong revealed that Watcharaphon allegedly asserted that Rattana owed him 30,000 baht and that her failure to pay the loan sparked his violent outburst. The incident happened on Tuesday, May 16, when Watcharaphon and Rattana got into a furious disagreement over the aforementioned money, according to Pol. Col. Thanapong. Rattana reportedly rejected Watcharaphon’s attempts to take the money from her and yelled at him. Watcharaphon responded by covering her mouth and strangling her, which made the victim struggle and bite his hand. The two unintentionally knocked into a picture frame in Rattana’s apartment building during the struggle, causing it to collapse and break. Then, according to reports, Rattana picked up a piece of glass and pursued Watcharaphon. The victim was repeatedly stabbed in the neck, face, and shoulder by Watcharaphon in retaliation after becoming enraged by this, until she was immobile. He then left the area, according to Pol. Col. Thanapong.However, Watcharaphon is still only being questioned in its early phases, according to Pol. Col. Thanapong. and today (May 25), Pattaya Police planned to conduct a press conference.
