Suspension of military operations for one month

The Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services announced on March 31 that the military will be ceasing all military operations until April 30

The statement says that the military will stop all military operations, apart from instances where the security and governance mechanicsms are threatened

, in order to continue talks with the Tatmadaw’s peace negotiation committee in order to solidfy the peace process under the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) with Ethnic Armed Force (EAO) signatories to the NCA,

to continue discussions with EAOs that are not signatory to the NCA, to continue the process of undertaking efforts to achieve eternal peace and for the annual Myanmar New Year Thingyan Festival to be held as per COVID-19 guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The statement also states that a central national unity and peace committee, a national unity and peace process committee as well as a national unity and peace negotiation committee has been formed. 

It also reiterates the 5 key process, with 9 objectives, of the State Administration Council.
