One of two Chiang Mai students charged with violating the lese majeste law cut the number 112 on his chest with a razor on Tuesday
The two were answering police summons to hear charges of violating Article 112 of the Criminal Code and changing the national flag.
On Tuesday, the two students – Vittaya Khangnil and Yodsunthorn Rattanapradit – visited Bhubing Rajanives Police Station to hear the charges. They were accompanied by almost 50 students.
Before arriving at the police station, Vitthaya took off his T-shirt and used a razor to cut the number 112 on his chest.
Police immediately rushed to him, as they were afraid the student could be in physical danger from his action.
Some of his supporters tried to block the police, as they saw his action as a personal right. However, the tension eased later and the two students went into the police station, together with lawyers and some friends.
