A stage and other structures set up by a hotel on a beach in Cherng Talay (map below) to host a large wedding party over the weekend have now been taken down.
Ma-ann Samran, Chief of the Cherng Talay Tambon Administration Organisation (OrBorTor) Thalang district’s Phuket province was notified by locals that a wedding party was being prepared on Pan Thri Beach, between Surin Beach and Bang Tao beaches.
Officials visited the beach to find a big stage and others items being assembled.
Ma-aan says he asked the hotel to remove all the illegal structures. At first they refused to do so, but when they were told a police report would be filed, they agreed and started to dismantle the structures and decorations.
