Russian Tourist Drowns at Pattaya Beach, CPR Attempts Fail
Pattaya City police responded to a drowning incident at Pattaya Beach, near Soi Beach Road 3. A 54-year-old Russian female tourist, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found face down in the water. Despite attempts by bystanders and police to administer CPR, the woman, who had been submerged for a prolonged period, later passed away from her injuries.
A witness, 43-year-old squid fisherman Athit Chinrat, reported that he had initially seen the tourist playing in the shallow water. Upon his return, he found her unresponsive in the sea and immediately called for help. The woman’s body was then transported to Bang Lamung Hospital for identification and further investigation. Authorities are waiting for contact from her family to make arrangements for religious rites.
