Russian Model Detained in Thailand for Visa Overstay, Faces Transfer to Notorious IDC Prison
Pattaya, February 8, 2025 – Former child beauty queen Alexandra Tikhomirova, crowned Little Miss Russia in 2013, is being detained in Pattaya after allegedly overstaying her Thai visa by ten days. The 23-year-old model, who has previously faced deportation from Thailand, is now set to be transferred to Bangkok’s infamous Immigration Detention Centre (IDC), known for its overcrowded and harsh conditions.
According to Russian media reports, Tikhomirova is being held in difficult conditions “alongside robbers and rapists” without food or water. She reportedly lacks the funds to purchase a ticket home after a fallout with her parents, who allegedly disapproved of her rumored work as an escort—claims that have been denied by some family members.
Tikhomirova had spent time in Dubai before returning to Thailand, where authorities discovered her visa violation. As she awaits further legal proceedings, concerns grow over her well-being in detention. Russian authorities have yet to comment on any diplomatic intervention.
