Police Bust Billion-Baht Gambling Site, Arrest 13 Suspects

Police Bust Billion-Baht Gambling Site, Arrest 13 Suspects

Major Gambling Operation Dismantled

Police have arrested 13 individuals linked to an illegal gambling website that generated over 1.6 billion baht annually. Authorities also seized assets valued at 20 million baht from the suspects.

Connection to Fengshui Master Fraud Case

The crackdown stems from an ongoing investigation into 43-year-old fengshui master Thanawan Jiracharoenwes, also known as Tili. He was previously arrested for allegedly defrauding 117 victims of a total of 130 million baht. That case is currently before the Criminal Court.

Illegal Gambling Ties Discovered

Police allege that Thanawan funneled around 90 million baht of the defrauded funds into the well-known gambling website SBOBET. Following two months of surveillance and investigation, authorities took action.

Raids and Arrests

On Sunday, police raided three luxury properties in Bangkok and Pathum Thani, leading to the arrest of a 58-year-old suspect, identified only as Thanaphat, who was allegedly running the operation. Twelve additional accomplices were also taken into custody.

Seized Assets and Legal Action

Authorities impounded assets worth 20 million baht, believed to have been acquired through illegal earnings. Investigators revealed that the gambling website had been in operation for over a decade, with an annual turnover exceeding 1.6 billion baht.

Police are continuing their efforts to recover assets lost by victims in the fengshui master fraud case. Legal action may also be pursued to seek compensation for damages.
