Phrae Businessman Found Dead After Mysterious Disappearance
Discovery of Body and Investigation
A 57-year-old businessman, Dao Lucksaratanchok, was found dead beside a rural road in Mueang district, Phrae province, after going missing overnight. His body was discovered on February 27, lying face-down next to his Toyota pickup truck in Village 10, Ban Wiang subdistrict, Rong Kwang district. The news of his death shocked the local community, though his family has ruled out foul play, suggesting that natural causes were responsible for his death.
Dao was the owner of a water business and well-known in his neighbourhood. Police Lieutenant Weerapat Wisai of Rong Kwang Police Station received the report at 7:20 AM and informed his superior, Police Colonel Tharadol Hemmaphat. The police immediately launched an investigation.
Last Known Movements
Dao was last seen leaving his home in Ban Tonkhrai, Village 5, Chor Hae subdistrict, Mueang district, around 1 PM on February 26. His wife, Kamolwan, said he was heading to Ban Wiang, Rong Kwang subdistrict, for business matters. When he didn’t return home by nightfall, the family became concerned and began searching for him through the night.
Tragic Discovery
A local villager made the tragic discovery early on February 27. Dao’s body was found beside his vehicle, which was parked along the road. News of the discovery quickly spread, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers and shocked neighbours.
Cause of Death
Police conducted a thorough investigation at the scene, collecting evidence and photographing the area. The body was sent to Rong Kwang Hospital for an autopsy. The attending doctor confirmed that the cause of death was heart failure, consistent with natural causes. There was no evidence of foul play, and Dao’s family confirmed that they did not suspect any wrongdoing. Authorities concluded that Dao likely suffered a heart attack while exiting his vehicle.
Dao’s body was returned to his family, who have begun preparing for traditional funeral rites.
