A shocking scandal has rocked a prestigious school in Uthai Thani after a male teacher was caught on camera engaging in a deeply inappropriate act within a classroom. The teacher, whose identity has not been disclosed, was filmed wearing nothing but a black dog mask and a chain around his neck while exposing himself.
The disturbing footage, first brought to public attention by the Facebook page Kan Jom Phalang, quickly circulated on social media, triggering outrage among parents, students, and the wider community. Further reports revealed additional videos showing the teacher engaging in similar indecent behavior in a government office.
Public backlash has been swift and severe, with calls for the teacher’s immediate dismissal and the revocation of his professional license. Critics have condemned the act as a blatant violation of ethical standards expected of educators, urging authorities to take decisive action.
Legal repercussions may also follow. Under Thailand’s Criminal Code, Section 388 prohibits public indecency, punishable by fines, while Section 287/1 criminalizes the dissemination of obscene material online, carrying potential imprisonment or hefty financial penalties.
Amid the growing uproar, Theer Phawangkanan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), confirmed the teacher’s immediate removal from his post pending a full investigation.
“A fact-finding committee has been established to ensure a fair and thorough inquiry into the incident,” Theer stated, adding that the teacher would face the maximum penalty if found guilty of misconduct involving students.
Further disciplinary measures are also under consideration. Associate Professor Dr. Ponrapee Thummaphan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Teachers Council, announced a separate investigation into professional ethics violations.
“If the findings confirm unethical conduct, we will move swiftly to revoke the teacher’s license,” Dr. Ponrapee asserted, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining integrity within the teaching profession.
As the investigation unfolds, the school community remains shaken, demanding transparency and accountability from the institution entrusted with their children’s education. The case underscores the critical need for rigorous oversight to ensure that such violations do not go unchecked in Thailand’s education system.
