Between January 27 and 31, Pattaya will welcome approximately 5,400 U.S. Navy personnel for a recreational break following training exercises. In preparation, a meeting on January 23 between U.S. Embassy representatives and Thailand’s Regional Police Division 2 laid out comprehensive plans for safety, traffic management, and hospitality.
Most of the visiting personnel will stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, with 40-50 shuttles running daily from morning until midnight to ensure convenient transportation. Local police, immigration, and tourist authorities are working together to implement measures that safeguard the city’s entertainment venues, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance tourist service points.
Pattaya police chief, Pol. Col. Navin Teerawit, has called for cooperation from local businesses, urging them to adhere to fair pricing and provide high-quality services. He highlighted the importance of creating a positive experience for the visitors, encouraging establishments to act as vigilant and welcoming hosts.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to report any urgent incidents by contacting 191, which operates 24/7. With these coordinated efforts, Pattaya aims to leave a strong impression, ensuring a smooth visit for the Navy personnel and fostering goodwill for future visits.
