Pattaya Police patrol local beaches, continue to warn for alcohol consumption

Pattaya Police

Pattaya and Jomtien police and law enforcement continue to patrol local beaches, especially over the busy weekend period and warn visitors-parties and alcohol are still prohibited on the beach.

Police are also reinforcing social distancing and asking people to stay within their own family groups on the beach, wearing masks when not swimming.

The Pattaya News notes that the majority of beach visitors appear to not be wearing masks and alcohol bottle visibility has grown over the past several weeks since the beaches reopened.

Trash has also grown on area beaches since the curfew was ended last Monday, being attributed to people gathering and leaving trash primarily overnight. Law enforcement ask those who come to enjoy the beach to bring home everything they brought and dispose of their own trash.

Most areas of local beaches are still missing trash receptacles despite many comments on social media and even a prior article from us here at The Pattaya News.

For the most part, police have been “soft warning” although have the authority to use strict laws that fall under the current emergency decree to control the Covid19 Coronavirus which carry fines as high as 100,000 baht and up to two years in jail.

Thailand has not had a single locally spread confirmed case of the Covid-19 Coronavirus in 26 days. If there are no cases later today that number will rise to 27 days in a row. Despite those results, officials continue to enforce and preach social distancing, good hygiene and mask-wearing.
