Pattaya Authorities Arrest Overstaying Ugandan Woman

Pattaya Authorities Crack Down on Beach Gatherings, Arrest Overstaying Ugandan Woman

Over 100 people occupying Pattaya Beach with rented mats, drinking alcohol, and leaving piles of trash sparked public outrage. Initially believed to be Indian tourists, authorities have clarified that the individuals were mostly migrant workers who regularly gathered at the beach after work.

On the night of February 8, Pattaya police, immigration officers, and local Indian community representatives conducted an inspection. Officials urged the workers to keep the beach clean and avoid overcrowding public spaces.

During the inspection, officers noticed a 39-year-old Ugandan woman acting suspiciously. When approached, she attempted to flee but collapsed into convulsions on the sand. A passport check revealed she had overstayed her visa by 603 days since 2023. She was taken into custody for legal proceedings and deportation.

Authorities continue to monitor public spaces to maintain order and cleanliness in Pattaya’s tourist areas.
