Owner of SUV abandoned on Bang Pakong bridge ‘committed suicide’

Police believe the woman who owned a SUV found on a Bang Pakong bridge early on Wednesday jumped into the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao.

The black Toyota Fortuner with Bangkok licence plate SorThor 3990 was found on the bridge of the Bangkok-bound frontage road at kilometre marker No 50 in Tambon Tha Kham of Bang Pakong district.

Two mobile phones, a travel bag and an empty beer bottle were found inside the SUV, whose engine was turned off. The vehicle’s emergency lights were not turned on.

Police from the Bang Pakong staton went to the scene at 4am after being alerted about the abandoned vehicle by passers-by.

Police later learned from contacts on the mobile phones that the owner of the SUV was called Ae and was a resident of Chon Buri’s Panas Nikhom district. Police had not yet contacted her family by mid-morning on Wednesday.
