ONE tourist confirmed with VIRUS and Pattaya goes CRAZY

VIRUS

March 18th – Saw another big clean up operation in Pattaya, but somewhat more serious than the normal litter picking sweeps that we have had on the beach.

A 67-year-old Belgian tourist had been confirmed positive with the Covid-19 virus, which led to a major scrub of the area and many parts in Pattaya.

The 67-year-old had arrived in Thailand on March the 3rd, and after a few drinks in Pattaya, he had then spent the night in a hotel before travelling to Phetchabun to stay with his wife at her house.

On March the 10th he started feeling sick and booked himself into a private hospital, where the Covis-19 diagnosis was made.

Environment and Public Health officials in Pattaya immediately ordered a clean and scrub of the bar in Soi 8, the mans hotel, Walking Street and other areas where the man had been while here.

ATMs, shop door handles and other surfaces that had been frequently touch had more attention in the clean up as more people touch them parts.

Person to whom the man had been in contact with and had very close contact with were notified and ask to self – isolate for 14 days while being monitored.

Since Pattaya had had its lockdown starting yesterday, the city has become a ghost town and many people who have had holidays booked to come here have had to cancel.
