Police arrested over 120 people who were partying in a Bangkok hotel room while using narcotics early Sunday morning. The party took place in Room 2001 on the 20th floor of the S31 Hotel in Watthana district, and was raided by authorities at around 1:30 a.m.
According to Pol Col Pansa Amarapitak, chief of Thong Lor police station, the police found 124 Thai and foreign men, described as gay, in their underwear, along with a few women and various amounts of ecstasy and ketamine.
The police had been tipped off about a similar event held in the same hotel room the previous weekend, from Friday night to Saturday morning. Investigations revealed that attendees had to apply for entry via a private social media group. Plainclothes officers had attempted to join the group but were rejected by the administrator.
On Sunday morning, police were informed that people were once again entering Room 2001, leading them to believe another party involving narcotics was taking place. Upon raiding the room, officers found attendees eating, drinking, and listening to music. Narcotics were seized, and all participants were taken for drug testing.
Test results later revealed that 31 people, including one woman, had narcotics in their possession, and 66 others, including another woman, had consumed them. Twenty-seven people had no narcotic residue in their urine and were released.
A source revealed that some of the attendees included doctors and operators of beauty clinics.
