Thai police arrested a man accused of coercing a 12 year old boy into sending nude photos and subsequently blackmailing him for money. The boy’s father reported the incident after noticing his son’s distress.
On October 19, police in Chiang Mai arrested 32-year-old Pitsanu Jongjitklang on charges of extortion and fraudulent use of a computer system to cause harm. The arrest occurred at a parking lot near Bang Na Nok Temple in Bangkok, where authorities seized a mobile phone and bank account records as evidence.
After an arrest warrant was issued, police located Pitsanu living near Bang Na Nok Temple in Bangkok and quickly moved to apprehend him, according to KhaoSod.
During interrogation, Pitsanu admitted to communicating with and threatening the boy for the purpose of extorting money. A search of his mobile phone uncovered conversations with nine other minors that contained sexual content, leading to an expanded investigation.
