Nigerian Man Arrested for Illegal Entry in Pattaya After Failed Escape Attempt

PATTAYA, Thailand – Chonburi Immigration Police have arrested a 52-year-old Nigerian national, Mr. Solomon, for illegally entering Thailand. His capture followed a failed escape attempt in which he tripped and fell beside a local resident’s car, allowing officers to restrain him. The incident took place at a condominium in Na Jomtien.

Authorities were alerted by local residents who suspected that Mr. Solomon lacked proper documentation. Immigration officers conducted surveillance before approaching him and requesting to see his passport or relevant travel documents. Unable to provide any valid paperwork, he was immediately taken into custody.

During questioning, Mr. Solomon was admitted to entering Thailand through an unauthorized route in Narathiwat province, bypassing immigration checkpoints. He then traveled by train to Bangkok before taking a taxi to Pattaya, citing economic hardships in his home country as his motivation for seeking a better life in Thailand.

Mr. Solomon now faces charges for illegal entry and unauthorized stay in the country. Authorities have confirmed that he will be departed back to Nigeria.
