A ruling party member of Parliament has launched a 90-day project to help the poor and people suffering from the Covid-19 impact in Bang Sue and Dusit districts.
Phalang Pracharath Party MP Thanikan Pornpongsarot has sought support for the project from the government and the private sector.
She explained that the project is divided into three parts: cooperating with temples to hand out meals from Saturday until August 12; cooperate with district offices to set up community pantries to enable people to share items and cooperating with restaurants to adapt to the digital economy.
“This project aims to create a society with a spirit of sharing in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to solve the hunger problem,” she said. “Many authorities are ready to offer help, so we will act as a liaison between the donor and the receiver to help those in need.”
She added that during the survey, they found both people who wanted to share and those who are in trouble.
