Motorbike driver seriously injured after collision with “Baht Bus” truck

A male motorbike driver has sustained serious injuries after colliding with a pickup truck taxi (Song Taew) in Mueang Chonburi early yesterday morning, August 7th, 2019 according to the local Dragon Rescue team.

Emergency responders were notified of an accident in the early morning hours on Sukprayoon Road at an intersection in Napa.

They arrived at the scene to find a damaged motorbike stuck in the back of a pickup truck taxi (Also known as a baht bus or Song Taew locally).  Nearby, the first responders found the motorbike driver, 46-year-old Boonrod Puangsin, who had sustained serious injuries.

 

Witnesses told rescue workers that the pickup truck taxi had stopped at the red light intersection. The motorbike came at speed from behind and collided into the back of the stopped truck.

However, police are continuing their investigation.
