Man ‘threatened to cut the gay out of his brother

A man wielding a knife was arrested after apparently threatening to ‘cut the gay out’ of his brother.

David Martinez, 40, allegedly held a kitchen knife at his home in Miami, Florida, and told his brother he was going to kill him.

Police responded to the home around 6am last Thursday after receiving reports of a dispute that had gone violent, according to a report from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The brother said he had tried to flee the residence, but that Martinez followed him, grabbed him and ordered him to go back inside.

The victim said he complied, out of fear, but eventually managed to escape and told a friend to call 911.

Martinez allegedly told his brother he was ‘going to cut the gay out of him’, according to the report.

When cops arrived at the scene, Martinez reportedly did not cooperate.

He was eventually handcuffed and transported to the county jail. Police also recovered the knife.

The brother later told police that Martinez was ‘acting strange’ since the previous night.

Martinez has been charged with three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and kidnapping.

He also faces two misdemeanor counts for resisting a police officer. He is being held on a $22,000 bond.
