KLM Expands Throughout Asia With Demanding Summer Schedule
When the airline doubles destinations over the course of the previous year, the recovery trend is obvious.
On March 22, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said that as of the commencement of the summer schedule, which is just four days away, the airline’s route network will include 165 destinations, of which 69 are intercontinental and 96 are in Europe. Yet the indicators of a proper rebound for international air travel have never been clearer.

By tripling the number of trips beginning in 2022, KLM will be extending its network to Asia. Also, more long-haul routes will offer the airline’s new premium economy product. After the prior few years’ skeleton network brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic and related travel restrictions, KLM said it will run services to 16 destinations throughout Asia throughout the summer.
Daily services will be provided to Beijing and Shanghai, in addition to three weekly trips to Hong Kong and twice weekly trips to Taipei through Seoul Incheon.
The Netherlands national airline will offer services twice per week to Osaka and three times per week to Tokyo’s Narita airport. Both of them have flights through Seoul Incheon. Beginning in September, the Tokyo route will operate five times per week.
In the meantime, KLM also flies, this time via Singapore, to Denpasar and Jakarta in Indonesia. Via Kuala Lumpur, it flies to Manila in the Phillipines. Moreover, the airline offers daily service to Mumbai and Delhi as well as five weekly flights to Bangalore.

KLM flies to 18 locations in North America in the reverse direction. In the summer of 2022, there will be 13 services instead of 10 going to Toronto, Canada. For flights departing from New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Toronto, and Calgary, passengers will have access to the new premium economy comfort class. Africa, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe
During the busiest months of July and August, the airline will once again offer a large number of services to the Dutch Caribbean, including up to 10 weekly flights to the island of Curaçao.
Ten destinations will be offered daily to South America and Africa, including Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Panama City, Nairobi, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. There will be three flights per week between San Jose and Liberia in Costa Rica and two flights per week between Dar-es-Salaam and Zanzibar for tourists.
After a good run this winter, KLM will maintain Nantes on its summer schedule of three times daily back in Europe. At the start of the summer schedule, which starts on March 26, it will also increase daily service to Rennes.
