Jealous Ex-Husband Vandalizes Woman’s Car in Pattaya

Jealous Ex-Husband Vandalizes Woman’s Car in Pattaya, Later Apologizes and Seeks Forgiveness

A heated dispute between former spouses took a destructive turn in Pattaya when a 26-year-old man, identified as Thanadon, vandalized his ex-wife’s car out of jealousy. The incident occurred on February 4 and resulted in significant damage to the vehicle, prompting legal action.

Destruction and Taunting Call

The victim, 24-year-old Thananya Khunwiset, reported the incident to Mueang Pattaya Police after discovering her dark blue Honda Brio, license plate ขน 1747 Chon Buri, severely damaged. Images shared by ThaiRath showed the car’s windshield completely shattered, with a large rock left inside the vehicle. The left-side window had a large hole, while the car’s bonnet and side panels were deeply scratched with offensive words, including “f*ck” and “hell.”

Adding insult to injury, Thanadon reportedly called Thananya to boast about his actions. Instead of showing remorse, he mocked her and brazenly refused to turn himself in. “Hello! Have you ever seen any criminals turn themselves in? No,” he taunted over the phone, angering Thananya further.

Police Intervention and Emotional Apology

Following the complaint, officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station summoned Thanadon for questioning and arranged a mediation session between him and his ex-wife. When confronted, Thanadon admitted to committing the crime, attributing his actions to lingering feelings of love, jealousy, and frustration over their failed relationship. He insisted that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

During the meeting, Thanadon extended a heartfelt apology to Thananya and promised to compensate her for the damages. The tense encounter took an emotional turn when he rushed to embrace their eight-year-old son, whom they share from their nine-year-long relationship.

Forgiveness and Withdrawal of Complaint

Despite the damage and distress caused, Thananya ultimately decided to forgive her ex-husband. She expressed her willingness to withdraw the legal complaint after their discussion, likely in consideration of their shared child.

This incident underscores the dangers of unresolved emotions leading to destructive behavior. While the case has been settled amicably, it serves as a reminder of the importance of healthy communication and conflict resolution, especially in relationships involving children.
