Japanese Man Found Dead by Hanging Near Koh Larn Viewpoint
A Japanese man was discovered dead by hanging in a wooded area near a popular viewpoint on Koh Larn.
At around 4:30 PM on March 6th, Pattaya police received a report about the tragic incident. Authorities coordinated with forensic teams and the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation before heading to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the man’s body hanging from a tree in a secluded forested area near the viewpoint behind Khao Phra Yai. Approximately 10 meters away, personal belongings were scattered, including a black hoodie, a camouflage hiking hat, a shoulder bag, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, a photo of an elderly woman, two packs of Viagra, and Bluetooth earphones.
A passport discovered on a stone bench in a nearby pavilion identified the deceased as Mr. Kazuhiro, a 48-year-old Japanese national. His full name has been withheld pending notification of his family and the Japanese embassy.
Security personnel stated that tourists had first discovered the body. Officers secured the scene and launched an investigation. While the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed, authorities are reviewing nearby CCTV footage for further insights.
The body has been transferred to Pattaya’s Pattamakun Hospital for safekeeping while awaiting contact with the deceased’s relatives. A thorough examination will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.
Sadly, this is not the first suspected case of suicide in Koh Larn’s forested areas. Similar incidents have occurred, including the tragic death of an Indian tourist last year.
