The Pattaya Tourist Police arrested an Indian man early Sunday morning for allegedly stealing a phone from an Uzbek tourist on Walking Street. At 6:36 AM, officers apprehended 43-year-old Mr. Oswal M.C., an Indian national, in possession of a Vivo Y200 Pro 5G smartphone, which he had reportedly stolen from 38-year-old Ms. Tosheva, a tourist from Uzbekistan.
Ms. Tosheva told the police that she had placed her phone on a table while dining at an entertainment venue on Walking Street. A man, whom she described as Indian, briefly approached her for a conversation before leaving. Shortly after, she noticed her phone was missing and suspected the man had taken it. The police reviewed CCTV footage from the venue and identified Mr. Oswal as the suspect. He was found walking nearby and, after being stopped and searched, Ms. Tosheva’s phone was discovered in his front pocket.
Mr. Oswal was taken to the Pattaya Tourist Police Station, where he reportedly admitted to the theft. He has been charged and will face legal action in accordance with Thai law.
