Indian Man Arrested for Firing Blank Gun

A 36-year-old Indian national, Mr. Sunil, was arrested in Pattaya after firing a blank gun into the sky, sparking panic among local residents in the Soi Kopai 4/1 area. The incident occurred at 11:36 PM on November 20th, 2024, prompting a response from Deputy Chief R.T.T. Chittisuk Suthinitaswong of the Pattaya City Police Station, who led a team to investigate. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found Mr. Sunil intoxicated. A search revealed a blank gun with 22 rounds of ammunition, which was confiscated as evidence. The weapon was found to be unmodified.

Mr. Sunil explained that he had purchased the blank gun from a dealer and was unaware that carrying or firing it was illegal. He admitted to being intoxicated and said he had fired the gun into the air on a dare, without considering the alarm it would cause in the neighborhood.

Mr. Sunil was arrested and taken to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning. He will face legal action in relation to the incident.
