Heavy Rainfall Causes Flooding in Pattaya

Severe Downpour Hits the City

PATTAYA, Thailand – On the night of February 22, heavy rainfall swept through Pattaya, resulting in localized flooding across multiple areas. The downpour began around 9 PM, leaving several roads submerged, particularly in residential zones.

Flooded Streets in East Pattaya

Residents in Soi Khao Talo, East Pattaya, experienced significant disruptions as water levels reached knee-deep in certain areas. One local resident remarked, “Using a boat, I could reach home. The water level was knee-deep earlier, but it’s receding now.”

Weather Warnings Issued

The Thai Meteorological Department had previously cautioned the public about unstable weather conditions, including thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, which were expected to impact various regions, including Pattaya.

Authorities Urge Caution

In response to the flooding, local authorities have advised both residents and visitors to remain vigilant, stay updated through official channels, and avoid flood-prone areas until conditions improve.
